England Manchester Mission

(The England Manchester Mission)

The England Machester Mission area is a historic and beautiful part of the worl. It emcompasses the Northwest of England, from the Scottish border in the north through Preston, Liverpool, and Manchester to Stonke-on-Trent and Shropshire in the South. It also includes North Wales and the Isle of Man.

Within the Mission Boundaries are the sites of the first overseas mission of the Church, and the longest continually operating unit of the Church in the world.
This is where Heber C. Kimball, Orson Hyde, Willard Richards, Joseph Fielding and others began missionary work in 1837. They were later joined by other remarkable missionaries such as Brigham Young, John Taylor, Parley Pratt and Wilford Woodruff.
President Gordon B. Hinckley also served his Full-time mission within the Mission Boundaries.

From among the British Saints who joined the Church in those early days came many of the faithful, influential leaders of the Church. Some of their kin still live in the area and I may have the opportunity to teach them the Gospel.

The beautiful Preston Temple and MTC are within our Mission Boundaries which provides special blessings and opportunities.
